Why iOS 6 is not supported in new app updates?

Its been almost only 2 months since iOS 7 released and you stopped the iOS 6 support, come on 2 months only, thousands of users are still on iOS 6 and dont wish to update up to now, I dont want to update to iOS 7, why should I miss the support of my current iOS for something I paid for, I cant add task reminders on the current version of the app which is 6.0.4
If am missing something please explain

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, we won't be able to maintain the iOS 6 version of our app alongside the iOS 7 version. There are some differences between these systems and iOS 7 not only allowed us to overcome some issues, but also implement new features such as the background sync.

We strongly encourage you to upgrade to iOS 7, it's free and will ensure that you'll get all the latest updates for all your apps incl. Todoist.

I agree with Haitham above, come on Todoist, you have a subscription model and you only supply updates on the latest version? This means that some people have to buy newer phones if they're on iPhone 4 for example, as it's under performing with iOS 7?

We're sorry for the inconvenience, of course you shouldn't buy a new phone, we hope that Apple sorts the performance issues out as soon as they can and you'll be able to upgrade to iOS 7.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have enough resources to maintain two iOS apps simultaneously so we had to either stop any further development of the iOS 7 app to focus on fixing and optimizing the iOS 6 app or continue improving our app and implement as much functionality as our Android app has and prepare the app for the upcoming sharing feature, but abandon the iOS 6 app.

It wasn't an easy decision, but we've chosen the second option. It should be in Apple's best interest to provide a performance fix for their customers and we hope they'll do so soon.

Hallo Peter,

Es tut uns leid, aber wir können die iOS 6 App tatsächlicht nicht mehr unterstützen. Wir hoffen, dass Apple bald alle Probleme mit iOS 7 auf älteren Geräten beheben wird und Sie iOS 7 installieren können.

Hello David,

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but we're no longer supporting or distributing the iOS 6 app. We strongly recommend to upgrade your iOS devices to iOS 7 ensuring that all your apps will be up-to-date.

If you no longer wish to use Todoist Premium and signed-up for it recently, please send us the order reference ID of your payment for a refund.

Best regards,

This is disappointing that you don't support 6 any longer. I have tried the mobile app, which is passable, but it would be very helpful if you could allow G+ login on the mobile web, as well as making the login e-mail address field support mobile device (so the mobile device presents the proper keyboard based on the input field type in the HTML).
