[UX/UI] Placement of Apply / Cancel icons

I'm really surprised about the placement of Cancel (upper left corner), Apply (upper right corner), and Delete (bottom edge) buttons...

I would think that both cancelling and applying changes would be a far more frequent use case than deleting. Having a thumb stretch all over 4" of vertical space into the corners is royally inconvenient.

I understand that 'Delete' is usually placed at the bottom of the settings. But it is a button of a very long list and it is assumed that no other cancel/apply buttons are present (i.e. changes take effect immediately and there is a single navigate back button).

As it stands right now, it is all too easy to delete a task and quite hard to hit save.

Worse still, both Cancel and Apply lack any visual indication -- color change, animation, position transforms -- to indicate the action is actually being accepted.
