API Basic noob question

I would like to make it possible for Tasker app to add tasks to Todoist app. I was wondering if that would be possible with the API and by my very little knowledge on it, it seems that no, since the API contains ways to directly communicate with Todoist server rather than Todoist app on android.

My problem is that I want to add tasks to Todoist while OFFLINE.
I integrated Tasker with Google Now. Which means I can add new commands to my Google Now. So I would like to add tasks by talking to Google Now.

So when I say: "add Buy milk". Google Now will convert it to text, Tasker will recognize and interpret the text (all easy) and now the hard part, send "Buy Milk" text to Todoist app, not directly to Todoist server. Since I won't have internet most of the times when out of the office, I need it to execute the command offline.

If Todoist app on Android get this text, it will later sync to the cloud.
Is that possible? Can Tasker app send info to Todoist app inside android without use of internet?

Hi Douglas,

From my understanding this would not be possible, but I will forward this question to our devs.

Though, doesn't Google Now need a connection to work, so wouldn't tasker not be able to talk to Google at this time?

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for the reply.

No, the new Google Now works offline (download language packs). What doesnt work offline are actions, such as "Navigate to Wall Street" or "Remember me to wash clothes in 20 minutes".
But things like "Call Mom" works offline, and when I say anything that Tasker is programed to understand, he will capture the text and do its work, and Google Now will serve only for voice recognition.

If you are curious that is done with Google Search API by MohammadAG and Xposed Framework.

We just updated our Apps, and they offer more offline support. I am not 100%, but it's possible our Google Now support will work offline. Have you actually tried this since the update?

Yes that works but only online.
