Android 4.4 (KitKat) Support/Stability

Hello -

I'm one of the early adopters of a Android 4.4 (Nexus 5) device. Upon installation of Todoist I am seeing issues on this device - first launch is a forcequit, with no opportunity to provide credentials or any other information.

I've sent a bug report (via the Android reporter), but would be happy to work through this for the greater good (or learn if others have encountered similar issues and overcome them).

All responses

Hi Eric,

We will soon have some updates related to 4.4 but for now you can try clearing the data for Todoist and see if that helps with the force close.

Thanks Brendon. I did try that (and tried it again just now), to no beneficial result.

A few more details, just in case -

Todoist version 2.0.11
Android 4.4 Build KRT16M

As offered before, let me know if I can help - happy to benefit the community, if in a small way.

I have let the developers know about it but we are already working on updates for 4.4. If you can and willing, a LogCat file could come of use to use fixing this issue.

I'm afraid I'm not logcat capable at the moment. If I can get it set up in the next day or three, I'll refer back...

I am having the same issue. I have sent a few bug reports to you. Hope they help. At the moment Todoist just crashes immediately on launch on the Nexus 5

I also have a Nexus 5 with KitKat and I get the force close. I do not yet have root so I cannot pull a logcat.

Having just purchased the premium service it is a bit disappointing to not be able to run Todoist on the new Nexus but that can be expected with bleeding-edge hardware and software combined.

Is there an ETA on the update?

I am sure many of your Nexus 5 users would be thrilled to beta test, given the opportunity...

Hi Samuel,

Yes, the update should be sometime next week at the latest, unless some other major issue arises :)

Hi Fabian,

We have 4.4 support now (got devices updated) and a big update is coming very soon.

That said, I've taken this to remind myself how functional the mobile web interface is (but also how much the product has moved forward).

I'm seeing a force close on Nexus 4 . Tried clearing cache and app data also reinstalled the app but still it's force closing :(

For me, nexus 10 and 4.4 works; on my nexus 4, it force closes! Any update?

Yes, sorry. As initiator of this thread I anxiously awaited the release and installed immediately. On my N5, all is again well!

Thanks for the attention to this - and for sneaking in a couple improvements too!

The latest update, released today, should fix this issue.
