Why don't removed labels remain removed?

When I remove a label from an item, whether I do it on the desktop or a device, the label remains gone on the desktop list, but the device list puts the label back on every time the phone is restarted. And yes, I am using the premium version.

Hi Reid,

To clarify, you edit a task and remove the label, either on the Android app or the desktop version, and after a refresh, it comes back on mobile? Please try clearing the data for the Android app. (Android Settings --> Applications --> Todoist).

I would also clear the cache for IE for the desktop app, or if you are using the web version, clear the cache for that browser.

Now, why in the world would I want to do that? Lose all my settings and data just because there is a glitch in the program? If my labels are placed on certain tasks and not on others in the desktop version and then the android version updates, it should match the desktop version. This is, it seems to me, a basic problem with Todoist. It has nothing to do with what is or is not in my cache.

Or am I wrong that doing this will reset pretty much everything in the app? And what will prevent the same problem from cropping up all over again?

Clearing the data for the app does not affect your data within your account. All your tasks and projects and Todoist settings are saved within the Cloud. Yes a few minor settings for the android app itself can be changed because of this, but these data files are related to the current cached information and other bugs (yes with our servers) that can happen though are rare, it can usually resolve issues such as this.

Also, if it does not help could you please provide your Android version, which version of our app you are running and if you are running any custom ROMs.

Thanks, that seems to have worked (I just reset on my phone, not on the desktop version, though I will try that if I continue to have problems).

Sorry for the testiness. I just changed the OS on my computer (XP to 7) and, as I'm sure you are aware, it's far more work than it seems like it should be, so this felt like just one more hassle. Thanks for the help.

Guys, same bug for me. And after clearing data on Android device it still appears.

Steps to repeat:
1. Clear app data on Android device (for clean experiment).
2. Open app
3. Add any label to task.
4. Remove this label from task.
5. Close app and kill from app memory.
6. Open app

You will see removed label in the task. Only on this device. Web app and app on other devices will not show this label.

Please, fix this bug.

Hello Artem,

Thank you for clarifying, I've been able to reproduce this issue now and I've passed it to the developers.

Best regards,
