Why tasks date change after the sync?

Dears,

I have the following issue:

I use andorid app to enter my tasks, but when I open web site, all of them are sync with wrong date - a day later.

Example: I enter 10th June, but it is appear as 11th June in web version :(

Please tell me if this problem is only in my phone and how can I fix it?

Thank you in advance,

Hello Nicky,

Please make sure that your phone, your computer and Todoist itself are all set to the exact same time zone. Note - your computer may have the correct time, but a different time zone, please make sure the zone is correct.

Also, please try to add some tasks with due times such as "10 Jun at 13:30" and let me know if and by how log will the time of the task be off and if the issue works both ways so when you add a task through the web, it has a different date/time on Android.

Best regards,
David

Dear David,

I checked my time zone on my phone and computer and they are the same - Sofia, Bulgaria.

Also, I follow your advice and tried to enter taks "today @ 13:30" and the good news is that when it is sign on my computer is appear the same taks in Today, but with different hour - 14:30 :)

Any idia why? :)

Thank you,
Nicky

Nicky,

There is only one way for this to happen - incorrect time zone settings. Please also check the Settings in Todoist to make sure that you have the correct time zone set there as well. Also, if you're in a Daylight Savings Time zone, make sure that it is handled by your computers DST settings. The time should not be changed manually, but through the DST setting.

Best regards,
David

I'm having the same issue, and the time zones on everything except my computer are GMT. Computer is UTC. No way to change any of these to the other. It's incredibly frustrating to have every single task show up on the wrong day.

Hi Andy,

Can you please let me know the exact timezone setting you have in your devices so I can try and reproduce the issue? Also, let me know if you're using an Android, iOS, Windows, or a OSX (Mac) device.

So sorry for the inconvenience!

Best Regards,
Clyde

Ok, so my computer is windows 7 with the time zone (UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada. I'm running the app through the latest google chrome, and todoist's time zone says (GMT-0600) America/Denver. Todoist is also on my iphone 5c, with the timezone being set to Denver. Thank you for the quick response. I tried other apps for a task list and they just don't appeal, so I would very much like for todoist to work out.

Also, I have tried changing windows time zone to central america which at least matches the 0600 of todoist, no luck.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the additional info! Can you please click on the gear (gear) in the upper right corner → General → and change the timezone setting to GMT+7 option without the city? Does that help?

Clyde

I did that, I suppose I have to wait for whenever googles once a day dync happens to find out if it worked or not, correct? I changed in chrome and in my iphone app. On chrome, everytime I log in now it asks me to update my time zone settings, which when I do brings it back to the previous time zone mentioned. Additionally, my todoist ios app does not seem to be syncing with the chrome version anymore. I deleted it and am reinstalling now, hopefully it works.

Well, the google cal is refreshing into my sunrise, and those todoist tasks still show up wrong. actually there is only one showing up, and now it's a day early with a time frame of 10:02 to 11:02. So it's showing up when I entered it.

Hi Andy,

Please keep us posted regarding this issue and let us know it it works properly after reinstalling.

If still no luck, please try to open this link. It should show your correct time zone which should be set everywhere: https://jsfiddle.net/imankulov/71mpau4u/embedded/result/

Well no it did not. However I saved the calendar feed to desktop and manually changed the time zone on the file and todoist is now integrated into google calendar accurately. How this will play out in the future remains to be seen. I've set some test appointments to find out.
