widget crashing

LB

Hi

I have a Droid RAZR and it runs on Android 4.1.2 and the todoist widget that displays my tasks for the day keeps crashing. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to when it crashes... sometimes it's when I try to engage it (check off a task or add a new one) or sometimes it's just blank when I flip over to it (it's on the page next to my home page). When it crashes, the black bar at the top still says "Today, 20 tasks" or however many I have, but beneath it says "NO TASKS Start adding tasks by tapping the top + icon".

It'd be great to fix this, as that widget is a major way I use todoist.

Thanks!

Hello Laura,

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue so far and to identify its cause, we must know how exactly this can be triggered so if you'll notice any pattern to it, please let us know.

Additionally, to help us recreate it, please tell me:
- Do you always have the custom filter "Today" set as your view in the widget or do you use the default "Overdue, today" view?
- Are you always online or offline when this happens?
- Are you using this widget on the lock screen or on one of the screens after the phone is unlocked?

Also, please try to delete and reinstall the app to make sure it's not an issue with the update.

Best regards,
David

-I use the default overdue, today view
-I'm online (either wireless or 4G) when this happens
-I use this widget once my phone is unlocked

I deleted and reinstalled the app. I will let you know if I notice any other patterns if it keeps happening.

Hello, Laura and David,

I'd like to second this issue. As I've already informed you via Twitter (https://twitter.com/todoist/status/340574662557851648) my Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini with Android 4.1.2 onboard behaves the same unpredictable way. Sometimes, like now, it's ok. More often it's buggy like in these screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/PpXoN. Default view is always “Today”. I'm always online. Widget is placed on unlocked screen. The bug first appeared a week or two ago alongside with another bug that prevented me from logging in — I tried to fix this by logging out and in. Happily, that issue was resolved the same day as I got updated app. The widget bug still remains.

Best regards,
Artūrs.

Thank you for this information, I will pass it to the developers, but if you'll ever notice a pattern to when it occurs, please let us know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

David

I was having this problem, too. I re-installed the app and I haven't had the problem since then.

Hello,

I have updated to the 1.2.6 and now widget seems to show all of my tasks all the time. Thanks a lot for fixing this!

However, now it crashes as I click plus icon on a widget. After a delay it says „Unfortunately, Todoist has stopped”. Widget keeps working normally after this.

Best regards,
Artūrs.
