Reminders

Addition of the reminder feature to the mobile interface would be great.

Allow users to make reminders built-in so they are shown as Android notifications instead of SMS only. Snooze option would be awesome!

Hello Michael,

This feature should be supported, please try to add due dates with times, for example - "today at 1pm".

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

One side note I noticed with this. The reminder functions works great...the only issue is if you use the time to set a reminder that task is always pushed to the top of the list in the Today view.

I realize this is a standard rule of Todoist in general but sometimes I just want to set a reminder for later but the task is not necessarily the next up on my list to do. Not a huge deal but would be nice if these two things were independent.

Thanks for the response!

Michael,

In that case, you can type <remind tom at 2pm> (for example) within the task name and a reminder will be set to this exact time even if the task itself wouldn't have any due date or due time.

David

Am I missing how to get a push notification on my Android? I would like it to ring an alarm and show in my phone notifications. Perhaps I am not doing it correctly?

Hello Lundie,

Please log into your Todoist account at https://todoist.com click on the gear icon in the top-right corner and go to the Settings -> Reminders. Make sure your mobile device is listed there and choose "mobile push notification" as the default reminder method.

Also, each time you add a reminder to your task through the mobile app by typing <remind tom at 6pm> (for example) within the task name, a push notification reminder should be assigned to it.

David

Hi David!

Is it correct, then, that if I set a due time via the web, there will not be a notification on the mobile app? Must the notification be added via the mobile app?

Thanks again!
Lundie

Lundie,

It depends. If you go to the Settings -> Reminders window and set "Mobile push notifications" then by default, each task with a due time will have a "30 minutes before" reminder set to it automatically, but you can always right-click on a task, choose "Reminders" and add all types of reminders through all other channels to the same task.

If in the "Reminders" settings, you choose "No default reminder" then a task with a due time will never have a reminder automatically assigned to it, but you will still be able to assign a reminder of any type to it through the right-click -> Reminders menu.

Best regards,
David

I would love a native Android reminder that does not need data transfer. When you work in an office building without access to the web for push notifications, notifications that are local to your phone are essential so you don't miss any meetings set up in Todoist :-)
