I like this suggestion!
Additionally, I think that a simple 1x1 widget that looks like a shortcut icon, but that adds a badge (similar to the badge in the chrome extension), would be really useful.

Hi,
I would like to have a 4x4 widget to see at least the next '4-5' upcoming tasks. would be nice to check a task as "done" or create a new task from the widget. If possible transparent option for the widget and resizable.

Todoist with 4x4 widget. May be 2 or 3 sizes could be fine.

If at least I can see the task and mark it as done... that would be enough right now.

You should be able to select what query the widget uses to fetch the tasks to display. That way you could have different widgets for different projects on different homescreens.

A widget is by far the most lacking element of Todoist. Ideally the widget would have a button to add new tasks (+), another to refresh, be able to switch between date view, priority view, and list of labels view, be scroll-able, and tasks should be color coded by project As for the size, my launcher makes all widgets adjustable anyway, but 4x4 is a good start. Dark translucent theme.

Hello Andreas,

We will release an update with some bug fixes soon and we'll also add a widget in the near future. A widget is already in the making, it shouldn't take too long before it's ready for publishing.

The widget is available since the update from yesterday (March 19, 2013).
A shorcut to quickly add a new task is also available.
