Hello Lahav,

This option is already available. You can add a label to any task using the following format: @labelname. For example, if you add a @started label to a task, you can click on it to see all tasks with this label, click on the @ link below the search box to view all labels and even include this label in custom searches.

In the @ menu (the full list of all your labels), you can also change the colors of each label making them more distinguishable - each status can have a separate color.

I am aware of this option and its ok, but not great. And we want things to be great.
Just like you already have a field for the priority, it would serve for the convenience of the daily process of managing tasks, to have a field that you can easily pick the status from, with one finger touch.
