Offline mode
Todoist desperately needs an offline option for all platforms.
If you travel or otherwise find yourself without connectivity, then the absence of offline mode is a dealbreaker.

AMEN! This is a must in order to keep me using.

Absolutely.
I go offline often, and without an offline mode I have to keep my tasks elsewhere as well, which defeats the purpose of todoist.
Thanks for a great product!

I definitely agree... without an offline version todoist is way behind - and I would really love to continue using it....
I use "doings" on my ipod touch for offline it works great, look for it in the app store by typing in todoist

particularly after off-line periods, which happened in August

Todoist with off-line option will be a killer-app!

Off-line feature is critical and would place Todoist ahead of Wunderlist for simplicity, a desktop feature, and mobile use off-line.

I agree!! This one gets my vote...

I didn't vote for this feature, but I welcome the fact that it's being worked on. It'll certainly be good to attend a meeting knowing that one can access Todoist even if there's no internet connection.
One question: will this offline mode work equally well on Android, Symbian, Windows etc mobile phones, and Windows/Mac desktops and/or all browsers? If so, then I guess everyone will be happy. If not, then it will obviously be only those users who have the relevant hardware or software.

Hello Martin,
we're planning on using the offline mode in our native Todoist Mobile app which will be available for all smartphones which are capable of running apps.
As for the desktop solution - it will work with any browser that can take advantage of the offline storage capabilities of HTML5.
There's a comparison of layout engines supporting HTML5 on Wikipedia:

Hello,
we are currently working on the offline support for the desktop version of Todoist, but in the meantime, we are pleased to announce that the Todoist Mobile application for iOS is now available at the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/todoist/id476672770?ls=1&mt=8
It can be downloaded for FREE. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad (requires iOS 3.0 or later). Beside all standard Todoist's features, Todoist for iOS also includes OFFLINE SYNC.
We will soon release the Android version as well and will notify you once it's been published.
Thank you for your patience and continued support, we hope this App will increase your productivity and provide a great extension for Todoist's functionality which we will continue to develop according to your suggestions and feature requests posted in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/
If you have any questions or suggestions for the improvement of this App or experience any issues with it, please post them in this thread: http://todoist.com/Support/showQuestion/720/
We appreciate any feedback.
Best regards,
David

offline support would also require the ability to set notifications - please see more details in my proposal over here - http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/234/

Two suggestions:
1. It would help if the offline mode -- either on the mobile site or any of the apps -- includes a search bar so you could pull up tasks that you tagged.
2. It would also help if it included functionality that recognized phone numbers, so you could click on the number to have it automatically place a phone call.

yes want an offline mode atleast for windows desktop version
I agree an offline program that could run on the background and show notices if wanted, and actualize the data onto todoist servers when online same for cellphones .
What do you guys think?
And vote if you haven't already!

Offline for Mac OS and Windows!
I won't be renewing my subscription unless Todoist come up with Offline Mode - for PC, MAC and all major mobile platforms.
I don't think offline compatibly is a luxury. For heavens sake its a to-do app and no one can be 24x7 connected to the internet all the time. And you are talking html5 etc etc for long time. We don'care, get it done.
There are a good number of smart todo apps out there, free and paid which offers this functionality.
Its taking too much time todoist - Wakeup. I welcome other members to use some strong words!

Thanks for your comment, Deepu. The same applies for me. No renewal without offline version for mac and windows.

Hello,
we're proud to announce that with today's introduction of the new HTML5-based Todoist, you can access your tasks offline using the web-app which makes Todoist the first fully HTML5 compatible task manager http://todoist.com/html5
This has also greatly improved Todoist's performance. Thanks to offline storage, you can manage your to-do list instantly with no loading times whatsoever.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed in this thread. Your continued support is our inspiration and we will always keep improving our product to meet your needs and offer the best user experience.
Best regards,
David

Since this development I cannot change my tasks anymore. I changed the status from "a specific date" to "no date" and the date keeps coming back.
Can you fix that please?

Hello,
please tell me - did you edit a single task using the input box or using the multi-select option? There is currently an issue with multi-selecting tasks and changing their dates this way.
If you've used the input box, though, please tell me:
- What exact due date did the task have before?
- Did you pick the "no date" option from the mini-calendar or removed the date with Backspace?
- Does this issue occur in online, offline or both modes?
- Which browser are you using?
- Have you cleared your cache, offline storage and application data in your browser?
Best regards,
David
mmkaluza on Jul 25, 2012 - 12:24
ok, what I did: I had around 7 tasks which had the date 25 july. I changed it to no date using the backspace. thus all the changed tasks seemed to be changed but "came back" again.
just now I changed the date to 27 july - that worked.
I just tested it online.
I am using google chrome.
No, I didn't clear the cache.
mmkaluza on Jul 25, 2012 - 12:25
oh, and I edited each task on its own
