add duration / timebox field to tasks + sums

Being able to timebox a task is a substantial part of GTD.
Being able to see the number of hours a subset of tasks sum up to also.

I would like to have a timebox field for each task that allows me to indicate the estimated/allocated time span for it.

I would like that under each list it sum of timeboxes / durations be shown.

I currently do use labels to do so (@.5h, @1h, @2h, ...) but I miss the summation.

I would also like this capability, or to be able to load/sync task list with a time tracking program.

I love this idea, and would especially like to see it integrate into the visualization interface, so the pie graph will show total time spent on each project rather than number of tasks completed.

Maybe a timer so we can start and stop the clock on a task by task basis.

I would also love this. Particularly the last comment regarding a timer per task. That way I could compare my expected time against the actual time to complete a task.

That would just make life so much easier!

In the meantime, if you need a timer, I use this: http://slimtimer.com/ I'd love if they were all integrated, but it works for now.

I think so too: an estimated/allocated duration would be helpful. Summing over allocated times would be a plus

Yes this is a great idea. As a freelance developer I have lots of tasks - some lengthy development issues - some quick fixes. It would be great to say - OK I have an hour I cant get involved in some major thing, what can I do? ...get me a list of 5 minute tasks - regardless of project/label/client.

Being able to gradually improve one's time estimates for tasks is so key. Would be great to have an: estimated time attribute and then a time taken attribute

Mayb adding in choice of 1 hr, 2 hr, and 3 hr. Too long duration is not a good thing either.

ToDoList started out as stand-alone app that incorporated time tracking as an integral part of its feature set. I used that capability extensively in order to track progress on lengthy tasks. I'd love to see that same kind of functionality within the current web-centric implementation. (I'm still using the old stand-alone version--- great great tool.)

+1 for start/stop timer on tasks!

Would love this feature! I too have been using @1h, @2h, etc labels to do this and it's a clunky workaround at best.

Yes, I will start using todoist when a slimtimer-ish feature is included. Todoist is useless to me without it, but I'd happily pay for premium if I could track my time and then spit out graphs and tables of the discrepancies between time spent and time budgeted.
