Standalone Windows App

Todoist would be an awesome tool to have as a standalone app running in the System Tray (like Skype). This would be in addition to the versions integrated with Chrome, Firefox and Outlook.

Agreed. As long as it could be imbedded into the the desktop as a gadget/widget

Bjorn's app IS great but we still really need a full-featured native client that works when one is offline and then can sync back up when one gets back online.

I would prefer the same webapp but offline. Just use HTML5 support. It's much better than install a application in my desktop, which means like 3 different pcs (home, work etc).
I would like offline support in Chrome, just like Gmail etc.

I would LOVE a Metro style app for Windows 8! Todoist would be a fantastic addition to my Win8 Start page.

This will also be very useful for people who use todoist from work and the web portal is blocked from work.

Hopefully sync can be done via http to a different IP and won't be blocked !!

It would be really awesome to have such a tool running on the machine and displaying notifications at the system tray!

A Windows 8 style app complete with native notifications and and support for live tiles and pinning the app to the side would be awesome!

Please don't waste developer resources on this. There are ways for chrome pages to pop up alerts -- google calendar does this.

Hi

Thanks a lot for making this application available.
If I am suggest one fundamental change in this app thought....

One of the major use-cases for using this windows app from work would be from places where the web-app is blocked from work (most of the major financial corporations for example)

The app can sync over the web to make user data available ( for example MLO ( myLifeOrganized.com ) does something similar.

Right now - the login screen from the windows app is blocked from our work.

Hello Sunil,

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it and we'll try to find a workaround for this issue. Could you please specify what's preventing our app from functioning at your workplace? Are you behind a proxy, are web-apps in general blocked (anything using JavaScript)?

Best regards,
David

I have the same blocking issue (at office ), from what i can tell the web app is not blocked if its on https
. Seems the windows app tries to login with http and i cant even go to the start screen.
