I love todoist but switched to Remember the Milk just because they have good user-friendly Android application. I am looking forward to the Todoist application very much, I love it's interface and usability much more.

Yeah, it would be cool to have official, supported and full-featured app on Android.

I am using buddist, but it still needs some work. I get at least one FC every time I open it. A native app would double this value of this service in my eyes.
If a native Android app is made, please don't re-invent the UI and focus on a minimalist, uncluttered, finger-friendly interface.

The official native Todoist Mobile Android App is almost finished!
The greatly anticipated native Android app will be released very soon and will feature:
- offline support,
- most features from Todoist web version,
- automatic sync (3 times each day),
- great (native) performance.
In just a couple of weeks, we will launch a beta version and would like to invite you to test it on your Android phones, but for now, please take a look at the first screenshots and let us know what you think. We appreciate any feedback.

I'm also looking forward to native Android app!
I used to be a Rmember the Milk user. But I have switched to Todoist since function of managing project / sub-project and task / sub-tak is far more excellent.
But I sometimes miss RTM Android app.
Sample screenshots seems nice. Please go through with Android App project.
I'd be happy to do testing beta version!

I'd be willing to test the Beta, too. My phone is an HTC EVO LTE running on Virgin using Android 4.0.4

I got some little problems with Umlauts like ä, ö, ü ...
If I edit or create a new task at the Android App with Umlauts, the Umlauts are missing at the Web-App.
For example:
"Käufer" -> "Kufer"

Is there hope for todoist creating a fully functional Widget to exist on the home of my Android in the near future? I have heard talk of this in the forums, but I have yet to hear anything conclusive or see any progress discussed that sounded very hopeful. I know it may seem like a little thing in the scheme of the tool, but any function you can add that makes this product more surface level visible will ultimately enhance the usability for your main audience. We are a simple folk that like to be able to set a running list of our tasks up in a way that we can surface the list with as little effort as possible. Each barrier to entry represents a risk that the tool itself may not get used.

Hello David,
an awesome new native Android app is currently being developed and within a month, the new beta will be released which you can sign up for at: http://todoist.com/mobile_testing
Of course, this app will allow you to put it on your home screen and access your Todoist tasks anytime on- and offline.
We're sorry for the delays, but we really want to make a fantastic app and unfortunately this means that changes and improvements sometimes delay the release date.
Best regards,
David

Any news on whether a new round of beta testing can be done with fresh folks? (i.e. me?!). Would be very thorough in providing feeedback as I am quite computer savvy and have a vested interest in having Todoist be the best it can be!

Hello Amitab,
thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, we've reached the limit of possible invitations in our beta testing phase, but the good news is - we're planning to launch the app officially this month.
Best regards,
David

We're glad to announce that our native Android app is finally here!
We completely rebuilt our Android app from the ground up to provide a fast, powerful, and beautifully-designed to-do list. It's especially gorgeous on Android 4+!
