Project Sharing
I want to be able to share my project with others, so that we can collaborate on it. I am aware of Wedolist, but it doesn't have subtasks (I don't know about other features).
Why is there one product with subtasks and no sharing, and another and another with sharing and no subtasks? I want both.

Hello Sam,
thank you very much for your feedback, we appreciate it.
As suggested here: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/46/ we are considering an integration of both our products. It's a long-shot and I can't give you any timeframe on this, but eventually we will combine the features of Wedoist and Todoist.
Best regards,
David
Hi David,
I see a need to share todo's in a project (only) from my private todoist account for single users w/o having to get all features from wedoist, also for occational users, i.e that do not have accounts.
Compare w/Doodle for example, where you can invite people to collaborate w/o having to set up an account. (Hopefully you'll get many new users realizing the benefits anyway.)

I also would like sharing without having to leave behind the projects I have already created in Todoist. Plus, you don't have an iPhone app for Wedoist. Although I am a premium user and have been for some time, I am considering leaving Todoist for Remember the Milk or some other product simply to get the ability to share lists with my partner. This is a major feature missing from Todoist!

Hi,
Just in case, the main value for me in sharing is to be able to share some home-related 'to-do' list with my girlfriend, who is also a todoist-user.
There is no need to assign a task to a person, but just to share a list.
My suggestion is that this function should be complemented with the following ones:
- see who has completed a task (completed by be, by another user)
- email notifications as per task completement

Is there any further info on when we can expect sharing functionality in todoist? The integration in outlook is superb, but very little use when you cannot share tasks with your colleagues?

Hello Joakim,
We're already working on the integration of Todoist with our team-based project management tool https://wedoist.com which will naturally introduce task or project sharing as part of the integration.

David

Hey There,
I'm really liking the interface and design of todoist over the competition (producteev, astrid, RTM, orchestra, etc). However, the one thing the others have that TDist doesn't is collaboration/sharing of projects.
So I'm really excited to see that this will be integrated soon! I'm looking forward for this feature, as my wife and I use project sharing to be in sync on household stuff. It's super helpful!
Keep up the great work!

I would really appreciate to have something as simple as sharing a grocery list with my partner.
Cheers !
Absolute necessity!
As in my suggestion here:

I know you have Wedoist however Todoist is far superior and feels like a finished product, it would be an amazing feature to add an option to share projects with other people.
I do not think there is much need to Todoist and Wedoist to be separate because you will always have less time to develop the less popular one. Adding another subsciption would solve this problem, for instance: free, pro, commercial
Thank you.

Any chance you'll speed up the integration of Todoist with Wedoist now that Astrid has been bought by Yahoo? I use Todoist for work (since I don't share my work task list with others) and Astrid for lists I want to share with my boyfriend (groceries, household tasks, etc.). Now I fear that Astrid will be scrubbed -- they're not accepting new premium subscriptions and they talk about advising users on how to download their data -- not a good sign. I hated adding a second list app to my workflow, but it was necessary to get the ability to share lists. I'd much prefer to use the excellent features Todoist offers. Please, make sharing happen!

Susan,
Thank you for your feedback. This is a big implementation and it can take some time to have it published, but we're working on it right now and we'll try to have it up and working as soon as we can.
Best regards,
David

Hi,
I'm another Astrid user looking for a new home. The ability to share task lists was essential in my selection of Astrid.
My workplace is in the process of installing OutLook, and ToDoist seems to have decent integration with OutLook - this is a plus.
I look forward to the ability to share tasks in ToDoist.
Thanks - Allen

c'mon- hurry up the sharing function :) !
Yes please do hurry up! This is crucial! Me and my team at work already moved to www.todo.ly which is just a copy of Todoist but it does have this function! - just hope this is temporary move and we won't stay there for good as we like Todoist so much! But we had no choice :/
