Shorthand to enter tasks

Coming from rememberthemilk, I loved the way they implemented the task adding process.

Do this !1 ^today 12 #work-list @tag /10 minutes before

!1 = priority 1
^today 12 = Due today at 12 o'clock
#work-list = (guess what?)
@tag = see above
/10 minutes before = reminder

Something like this would be nice, and (I guess) easy to implement, since you already have it working for tags.

I'm pretty surprised that this hasn't been asked before, to be honest. What do you think?

Hello André,

Thank you for your suggestion. Most of this is already available at Todoist. If you set such task:

Do this !p1 @tag <remind tod at 2pm>

It will have a priority, label and a reminder. You can't set a project in-line, but if you're within a project when adding the task, it will be added to the right projects. To set a date, instead of hitting space or typing a special character to set it, you can just hit TAB to go to the date field and type "tod" or "today" or "every 5 days at 2pm" there.

In fact, if you type a time into the due date field, you'll get an automatic reminder 30 minutes before so you don't even have to set it up.

Hi David

Wow, didn't know about !p1. I tried !1, but since there's no auto-completion dropdown like for the tags, I didn't expect it to work.
