Option to prevent back button from taking user out of app
First, I am LOVING Todoist. I am enjoying getting the hang of it, but I noticed I keep tapping the back button to get out of the task view. This takes me out of the app. I re-open the app and a minute or so later I end up doing the same thing because I'm forgetful, and I've been doing this for several hours on and off. I'm hoping to eventually get used to not using the back button to get out of task view, but it would be GREAT to have an option to prevent the back button from returning me to the device's home screen. Would you consider adding this option? Thanks!
Oops, I should have specified I'm referring to the Android version.
Please clarify - are you referring to the hardware "back" button or the software "up" key? The behavior of both of them has been implemented accordingly to Android's documentation.
Hello, I was referring to the backbutton on the device, whether it's an actual physical button or the "soft" button built into the UI. I'm not referring to the back button within the app. I've seen apps (mostly games) that prevent the app/game from exiting when you tap the back button on the device, although I suspect preventing an app from exiting this way is not normal behavior. It would be nice, though, to stop myself from leaving the app by pressing the back button on the device as I do that out of habit as part of general app navigation. Old habits die hard! ;)
Thank you for the clarification. Again, we've checked the latest development guides and rules from Android to make these options behave according to the standards.
We'll see how we can improve it in the future, but for now, please try to use the TD icon in the top-left corner which works as the "Up" button and it will move you back one step and not bring you back to the home screen.
I am trying :) Thanks for your feedback!
