Ability to copy a task to another project

K

Would it not be nice to copy one or more tasks from a project to another?

Hi Karthik.

You can do that now in premium with the export and import template function. I use it for my work projects. Each project has an elaborate sequence of tasks which is basically the same for all the projects just different deadlines, so I export the whole set of tasks as a template, and import it to the new project folders.

So this suggestion should be marked "completed".

To the right of the name of a task is the hidden pull-down menu where you assign task priorities. One of the choices in that menu is "Move to another project." Select that option and you will be given a list of all your projects to choose from.

The export as a template feature is great in and of itself, but is very very clumsy for use as a way of copying individual tasks or even as a mechanism copy a project. Think of how many steps are required to do this versus a simple Copy/Cut/Paste operation. In addition, the user has to remember to go and remove any left over export files that represent a security risk. Fortunately, the stopgap for now is to use http://www.taskresolver.com. But this is just a temporary fix. Task Copy/Cut/Paste as well duplication of projects is absolutely a must in addition to the very nice import / export feature.
