Ability to merge or split projects

Merge a project: equivalent to moving all tasks one by one from project A into project B, and then deleting project A.

Split a project: equivalent to placing the cursor on a task in a project (project A), and then moving the selected task and all those below from project A to a new project B. A variation could be to allow moving of the selected tasks to an existing project, C.

Another thought for this request: Convert task into project... Sub-tasks become tasks within the project, task notes become project notes (which might be another feature request).

similarly, convert project to task. I'm just getting started and find I created projects (with tasks and subtasks) which I later realized would be better organized as top level tasks under a higher level project.

So this was first requested back in June 2011. It's September 2013 now.

Turning projects into subprojects of other main projects would be a useful function (some kind of drop and drag?)

We don't have any ETA or information about this at this time.

Yes, this would be a big help. Discouraging, though, that it's been bandied about for years and not acted upon.
