Ability to show completed tasks

MH

This manifested itself when I inadvertently marked a task as completed ... there was no was to see the task in the mobile app, or (more importantly) go back to "un-check" the task.

I'm really surprised this isn't here already. I want task history just like on the web. It doesn't have to be all-inclusive--even just a week or two or some basic customization for how long they linger. It should be a quick button to show/hide completed tasks.

Fundamentally, though, I feel they should be in the mobile apps, regardless of how. This applies to Android as well.

Can't believe you don't already have this. I don't think I can buy the app w/o it. I go to standup meetings and I bring my phone and I need to be able to see completed tasks.

I need this feature for standup meetings as well. We need to be able to report on what we've completed and what we will do. Right now I can only manage the what I will do portion using the iphone app which is very inconvenient.

This is probably a deal breaker for me, too. Why is this so hard for companies to understand?

On the iPhone, I want to be able to do the following:
1. See ALL of my completed tasks, not just some of them.
2. See my projects with tasks / sub tasks nested and be able to expand / collapse the projects.
3. Have the completed tasks be sortable with the default behavior to be that the sunk to the bottom if the list. Some are checklists that I want to sort alphabetically. Others I want to sort by date or other criteria.

Todoist did show the completed tasks at the bottom of the list until the app synched, and then of course they disappeared.

This is a MAJOR disappointment for me. I'm currently using Toodledo / Todo. Todo does all of this except show all of my tasks. Unfortunately, Todo is moving to their own sync service and I'm fairly certain they will stop development and support if the original app.

Was hoping that Todoist would be different. Sigh.

This is a deal breaker - just paid for premium membership before I realised that completed tasks were impossible to see on iPad.

Hello Antoine,

We're currently working an many great improvements for our apps and this feature will be available in future updates.

For now, you could try to access the full web-app on your iPad which is fully HTML5 compatible and will work on touch-controlled devices. To access it, please use this URL: http://todoist.com/m/forceRegular so it won't redirect you to the mobile site.

Best regards,
David

Just bought this as well today. I'm all for seeing completed tasks. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it sure would be convenient to have it as a filtered option or something...or a scroll to the bottom of the project (to that effect) to see what you just marked as complete.

I don't want to have to open up the full site on my Android in order to get a task back that I may have accidentally checked off in a project, for example.

Because...if I'm on my mobile device...there's a reason for it.
At any rate, voted up!

Hello Brian,

We will consider adding such option in the future, but regarding un-checking off completed tasks - please note that when you check of a task, you can tap on it again and then use the "Uncomplete" option (bottom-left corner) to bring it back. It will stay on the list until you change the view and, let's say, enter a different project.

Best regards,
David

Really like the 'Uncomplete' option in the new iOS version, which is really helpful when accidentally marking a task as complete.

Would still love to be able to see completed tasks - like the web version.

Cheers,
Tim,

Just inadvertently completed a task, don't even know which one. Now I have to login in a browser to set things right. It's a must have feature to view completed tasks.
Also, a little more feedback when completing a task would be welcome.

Agree with Elmar above. Not being able to undo an accidental completion action on a task is a dealbreaker, if this isn't fixed soon I'll consider refunding my account and looking elsewhere. Come on guys, you've done so many of the hard things right, please solve this as well :)!

You can uncomplete a completed task, provided it remains on the view as greyed out on the iOS app i.e. as long as you don't change the view or close the app. Tap the task again and you can see the option appear to 'Uncomplete'

This is such an important feature. A vital one!

I have been using the apps on ipad for 3 days and surprised this isn.t available since a lot of queries have been asked for the last few years. Please make this asap and not only on the premium app! this will be such a bonus mark for completing TD.

viewing completed tasks should not be a premium feature. i accidentally clicked completed and there's no way on your free version to see the task; "undo" did not work. Booooooo!!!!! I'm looking now for a new, free app, or a better value for a paid app ...

I really need this. Essentially, there is almost no difference when using the mobil app between completing a task and deleting a task. It makes it very difficult to see what has been done AND what I need to do and assess progress.

Yes, this is a must have and I should be able to "un-done" the completed task. Here's why:

I often use multi-gestures to switch betwen apps by swiping over the screen with 5 fingers in either left or right direction. Sometimes I do not do it properly and todoist registers this swipe as "done" action on the task that my fingers touched.

i see, as in MANY feature requests the reply is that a new version is "out soon" - when is the NEXT release out, and what features do you expect to include...the feature mentioned almost a hundred times here seems to be one of the most important for everyone on iOS... (+1)

The request for this important feature began in 2012 but no update. I am now using another task manager that does provide this feature but there is still much to like about Todoist so I will be pleased to consider it again if/when it is updated.

Evaluating todoist again and also missing option to see completed tasks but with specific goal to mark it as incomplete , I.e. Recurring shopping list.

This way items can be added on the move without having to start you PC .

This would be for iOS

To not include completed tasks has to be the most ridiculous decision ever made by a developer of a "serious" task manager. This almost makes the app unusable, especially for checklists (i.e. packing lists for trips etc.).

Even more irritating is it when you accidentally mark a task as complete and have NO way of getting it back inside the app.
