Sorting tasks

Could we get a way to order the tasks (by date or priority) on the android app ?

Currently I have to go on the web or firefox app, sort the tasks and then sync my mobile to have my lists sorted.

Thanks much for your work :)

Now I reread this post I don't think it's clear enough.

I meant I'd like my tasks, inside a project, to be automatically sorted the way I want. Currently the latest task appears at the end. But I'd rather prefer the list sorted by priority.

Thanks again :)

And I want to be able to sort by date so both options are good. :-)

I also need to sort some list by date, others by priority. At present I can only do this when I'm on my desktop, which is a hassle since I'm using dealing with my projects on my Android devices, no where near a computer.

Sorting is very much needed, as in the web application.

I desperately need 'sort by date' within projects on the android app. Please vote to make this a priority please.

The fact that Android app has no option to sort tasks in projects by date/priority saddens me to no end. There has to be an option to automatically sort tasks by date/priority. Currently, when I add a task via Android or via web, it breaks the sorting order. Always. Each time I add anything I have to re-sort the list. Very annoying.

I extensively use the drag-handle-to-reorder feature in the chrome and desktop apps. Would desperately appreciate this form of string to be included in the Android app - I look for it everyday!

Hello Moe,

You can manually drag & drop tasks on Android. To do so, please long-press a task and while holding it, you can move it around.

Best regards,

A sort option would be more than welcome :-)

This functionality has now been removed. See this thread for the announcement:: http://todoist.com/Support_Android/showQuestion/583/

How is the sort function for the platform going? Manually dragging and dropping items so that they are sorted is a pain.

This feature would be very useful.

Following David's reply of Dec 17, I have found the drag and drop sorting on my today view on Android to be impeccable. It allows me the fine grand daily control that I need. Date or priority sorting in a project view may be desirable to some, however please do not sacrifice the manual control of the Today view! Than you.

I would like to be able to switch between priority and due date order on the Android app. e.g. Sort by Priority and then by Due Date.

I would also like to see better sorting options ACROSS THE WHOLE APP on all platforms!

I would love a "Sort" button/option to appear on each page and let me choose how to sort and group my tasks - no matter what view, label view or filter I am using.

So, for example, if I run a filter - I would like to be able to sort and group the results however I want, not always by the default. The way I want to view my tasks varies depending on any number of factors and being constrained to one way to view them is very restrictive.

I often want to sort tasks or view tasks grouped by:
Alphabetical (by task name)

Todoist does a beautiful job with this by DATE but the features for the other options are non-existent. Please add sorting features!
