Task times change when I synchronise
When I synchronise my ToDoist app the task times change by one hour. I think this is probably to do with the time zone settings on my desktop and iPhone but I don't know how to get the two to match.

Hello Stephen,
Unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue. Please make sure you're using the correct timezones on both your iPhone and your desktop computer. Try to set the time manually and choose the same timezone on both devices. The same time may not always indicate the same timezone, in some cases, the option to adjust the time according to the Daylight Saving Time may cause inconsistencies.
Furthermore, please make sure you have the correct time zone selected in Todoist's Settings -> General.
Also, please tell me - what exact due date/time formula did you use on your phone and was it displayed correctly after saving the task? When and where did it change? After you've synced the iPhone app did it already change there or once you've accessed your tasks on the desktop (did the time also change on the phone after you did it)?
Best regards,
David

David,
Here is an example of what happens.
1. Desktop (time zone set as "GMT")
Add task: email ref Todoist error; in edit mode "today @ 11:30"; displays as "11:30"
2. Then log out of desktop.
3. Open app on iPhone (time zone set as "London") and synchronise
Task: email ref Todoist error; in edit mode "today @ 11:30"; but displays as "12:30"

Stephen

Stephen,
Unfortunately I still can't reproduce this issue. Please tell me - the desktop time zone (which is GMT) is set both on your desktop computer and within Todoist's timezone settings?
Also, are the time settings on your phone set to automatic?
Best regards,
David

David,
The time settings on my phone are not set to automatic.
The "Time Zone" option just says "London, England". This is currently GMT and the time is displaying correctly.

Stephen

Stephen,
Please clarify - are you referring to both the time zone on your computer and the one in Todoist's settings?
Also, have you tried changing the time settings on your phone to "Automatic"?
Best regards,
David

David,
The desktop (Windows) and iPhone time zone formats are different.
The desktop time zone is called "GMT".
The iPhone time zone is called "London, England"
At first I had my iPhone time settings set to "Automatic" but then reminders/appointments in some apps changed to show the London time expressed in local time (eg a reminder set in London for 10:00 changed to 11:00 if I was in Central European Time). I don't always want this to happen, so I find it better to keep my phone on London time.

Stephen

Stephen,
I understand that you have GMT set on your PC and London on your iPhone, but could you please clarify what time zone is selected in Todoist itself? Log into the web-app and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner, then choose "Settings" and on the "General" tab, you'll have an option to select a timezone for Todoist. Which one is selected there?
Best regards,
David

OK, I see. I didn't realise Todoist had time settings as well. This is set to GMT+1. I've changed that to GMT now.

Stephen,
Please clarify - does this change affected the behavior of your timed tasks or does the issue still persist?
Best regards,
David

OK, I've tested it now. that seems to have fixed it.
Thanks
Stephen
