web changes not appearing on Android, old data overriding new changes
I am really irritated; I have been trying to get changes I know that I've made on the Web interface to sync to my Android to no avail.
Now, I've discovered changes I made today on the Web have been overwritten by old data on my Android -- old due dates have been restored, and tasks I had removed due dates from now have due dates again.
Yes, I am Premium. And yes, before you ask, I do have the latest version of the app installed on my Android.

Please confirm (head into the Settings area for both) that you are indeed signed into the same account on both. If you signed in with Google on one but not the other, this could have created a new account.
Also, please try heading to Android Settings, Applications, and then clearing the data for Todoist.
Interesting. This is apparently not an Android issue.
I deleted the Android app. Today, as I was messing with the Web app, a strange thing happened.
All my tasks were overdue Yesterday at worst. As I was in the middle of bringing them current (Do It Today) in chunks, some of my tasks (none of which I had highlighted) reverted to being due 5 and 8 days ago, along with their old recurring due dates -- due every Monday instead of every Friday. Again.
The only way to have an inconsistency between due dates is when you use Todoist on a device that's using a different time zone than you have set on Todoist. Please make sure you have the correct zone on all your devices and in Todoist.
Also, using "Do it today" will never help for a recurring task - if the recurrence pattern is incorrect due to time zone differences it will always be off.
Also, please confirm - were the incorrect tasks displayed on the today/7 days views or also within their projects?
Please make sure that you have the same time zone settings on all devices you're using Todoist on, this includes your PC/laptop, even if the time may be correct on your system clock, if the time zone setting is incorrect, the dates may be off.
Also, did Todoist ever ask you to adjust your time zone? If so - you must choose "yes".
If you add a new task now and set it to "every Monday", does it have the correct date?
I am having the same problem, except that my web app is not showing many changes I made in the android app. I am using the most updated Todoist app on my android, and I have the time zone set correctly on both my laptop system, the Todoist web app, and the Todoist Android app. I have logged out and logged back in to ensure that I am using the same account on both devices.
Tasks that are shown as completed on my Android are showing as uncompleted on the web app. New tasks that I added on my phone are not showing on the web app. After logging out and back in on my phone once again, it synced with the web app, meaning that the new tasks I had added in one project disappeared, and tasks previously marked as completed on my phone now appear as uncompleted.
I just paid for a premium account recently, so this is very frustrating.
Unfortunately, we're unsure why this has happened. The only way to trigger such incorrect behavior is the use of our app on a device with incorrect time zone. If new tasks are displayed correctly, please try to edit and correct the dates of the tasks affected by this issue (manually editing their dates, not using "Do it today") and let me know if it still continues to persist. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Let me be clear: the only device I am currently using with Todoist is my workstation, which stays at my desk. So no time zone changes. Please take your blinders off and consider alternative explanations, because clearly the time zone thing isn't the problem.
This occurred with two tasks. I don't remember which ones, but as they showed up as being due 9 days ago, they are tasks which are still reverting to my old "every Monday" due date.
In fact, I had gone through and fixed all my weekly due dates to "every Friday," but now that I've gone looking in my project list again, I find that some tasks I have completed since I did that are now due next Monday instead of on Friday.
This is getting real old. As I'm using Todoist in a "production" environment, I can't just leave things as they are in case you guys have a question about what happened.
We're sorry for the inconvenience, but based on past reports, every single time such issue occurred, it was time-zone related, therefore we have to make sure that's not the case first and then look at other options.
Unfortunately, at this point we're unsure why this happens. That's the first report that not time-zone related (assuming you're not in a network connecting out through a server in a different zone). If a task due "every Friday" suddenly becomes overdue by 9 days, it would suggest a syncing issue, but it's also the first time that a failed sync would actually revert data back rather than simply not sync it at all.
Do you ever close Todoist immediately after you complete a task so that it won't sync first and then go offline or use it offline often? If there's any way you can trigger this issue somehow so that it can be always reproduced by following certain steps, that would be very helpful.
I am having this same issue. I just traveled out of my home time-zone with my MacBook, iPad, and Android phone. I am back in my original time zone now.
The up to date version of my projects/tasks is on the Android app. The desktop, web, and iPad apps don't sync with updates made through the Android app.
What do I do to get all to sync with the Android app again?
Today I just had tasks that I had stripped the dates from weeks ago reappear as overdue tasks (by 17 days) with recurring dates (1st of every month). All I did was open Todoist in my browser. . .
And clearly this is not a save or sync issue, as these tasks have not had due dates for weeks.
As mentioned already we are unsure what is happening with your tasks and our regular reasoning does not seem to have helped. If you could try to completely remove the issue items and re-create, instead of changing the dates, and see if it continues to do so afterwards.
I know this is not what you'd like to hear but it is worth a shot.
Thanks for the quick reply. As recommended, I logged out of everything Todoist except the Android app, refreshed/synced the Android app, and logged back in. Still all my other devices show an old version of my projects/tasks.
I then tried clearing my browser/app cache and uninstalling/reinstalling the desktop and iPad apps. No luck -- my devices are still out of sync -- only the Android app is showing the current version of my projects/tasks.
What should I try next?
I had a task that was originally due-dated September 27th (no recurrence). It had been carried forward a couple times to be due today. I clicked Postpone and it now shows as being overdue 3 days.
This has happened to both recurring and non-recurring tasks now, some that were created a long time ago, and some that were only created a few days ago.
Please make absolutely sure that you're logged to the same account on all platforms. Also, try to add one new task on the Android app, sync it and reload the page on the web and see if it syncs this new change or even all others along with it.
Unfortunately, so far we're unable to trigger such behavior on our apps on any platform :(
Please tell me - are you accessing Todoist through a bookmark? And if so - does it point directly to https://todoist.com or a different URL with a version number in it? Also, when you say "it had been carried forward a couple times", how exactly did you do it - by clicking "Do it today" or dragging & dropping it on the 7 days list?
My bookmark had a version number in it. I've modified that to just use todoist.com.
I always carry tasks forward by using "Do It Today" or "Postpone."
Could the problem have been the Chrome extension? I run it but never use it; I always use the regular Web interface to input and manage tasks. Have you guys tried that setup?
The extension should not be a problem, it basically connects to a "mini" interface of Todoist which uses the same data the full app does, however the number in your bookmark is most likely the source of this issue as accessing an older version of Todoist will read a version that may indeed contain bugs which have been fixed already.
That said, please continue using Todoist as you did so far now with the corrected bookmark and let me know if the issue persists.
Also, just to be sure that the older version is really gone from your cache, please go to Chrome's Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site date and find and remove todoist.com on this list.
