Android Widget Not Automatically Updating
I am testing out Todist and so far everything is great except for one very important issue. I want to be able to have all my tasks automatically sync between devices including the android widget. I will likely use the widget far more than the app itself. However, when I make an update on my PC app or online, my android widget will not update unless I actually open the Todist app on my phone, which forces a refresh.
This makes the widget rather useless if I have to open the app every time I want to see updates on the widget.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to get the widget to auto-sync/update to reflect changes made on other devices without having to reopen the app to force that refresh?

Please remove the widget, then head into Android Settings, Applications, and find Todoist. Please clear the data for the app. Also make sure you are using our latest version.
Then log back in and re-add the widget, let me know if it continues to have the issue.
While I was waiting I decided to uninstall the app and widget and reinstall it. That didn't fix the problem.
However, now I have found out that it is actually updating, it just takes 20-30min. Is there anyway to speed up this refresh? Or is there a way to have an immediate push happen from the website to the widget?
Push sync will be rolled out for all platforms soon. Please clarify what are you referring to with "command line shortcuts"? If you're talking about adding task properties within the task name - that's already possible, for example type:
Buy milk !p2 @John <remind tod @ 2pm>
then hit TAB and type "tod" within the date field and the task will have a due date, a reminder, a label and a priority.
Thanks David, but... too hard! Needs to be simpler.
This is my most common RememberTheMilk text entry, 20 times a day:
"do xyz !2 tomorrow #work"
Super quick, super simple.
Todoist has priority, check.
You do not have Project, need it.
You do not have Due Date, need it.
This one's easy to develop :-)
You indeed can't set the project this way, but you can the due date. As I've mention above - hit TAB and type "tomorrow" or even shorter - "tom". Based on the example above, instead of TAB you would hit the space bar in RTM to add a date so it's also just one click :)
Reg. project selection - we're actually already working on this, at first in the Ctrl+Q Quick Add popup where you'll be able to select the project quickly with the hashtag.
Fair enough for that use case. But, I also use this a lot: "do xyz in 3 days #work" and it works sweet in RTM, setting the date to whatever today +3 is. Anyway, sounds like you guys are working on all this, so looking forward to it. P.S. RTM command line syntax works from all apps (Android, Web) so todoist should to!

May I suggest adding a refresh button to the widget for this issue? I too hate to open the app for an immediate sync.
The date "in 3 days" works also in Todoist. In fact, you can just type "+3" to set a task to a date 3 days from now :)
We're working on implementing a force-sync across all platforms which should fix this, but with Todoist Premium you could also get auto-syncing that would automatically refresh the data on mobile when you make a change on any platform.
