I have the same problem so I guess it is not a local issue.

I suspect the Todoist server or a bug that's recently got into the code.

indeed, there seems to be a bug in this feature. I've been able to reproduce it and have forwarded it to the developers.

I confirm it now works. Thanks for your speedy response and fix.
(I'll take this opportunity to promote that excellent suggestion of making it possible to re-order the Today list).
