More status for each task

Can you add more status indications for a task?
Using Todoist, we can only set the status of a task imcomplete or complete by clicking the check box before each task. Can we have more status indications, e.g. pending, wait for resources...
I know that we can use notes or labels to do so, but it will be more convenient for users if some colorful marks are available.

I think the status "Pause" (or "Pending") is really important, because you can add not just tasks, but also ideas.

The next step is a button "hide/show pending tasks" in the interface or setting.

In that manner I can empty my brain and keep trace of every idea
