Add a project email as a forwarding address in Google

I want to be able to auto-forward certain emails to todoist, using a Gmail filter. Now, as you may know, Gmail makes you confirm any address that you would like to auto-forward the email to.

The problem is that when I enter in an forwarding email into Google settings such as project.1351198@todoist.net, I don't receive the customary email from mail-noreply@google.com, that contains the confirmation code for me to approve that forwarding address.

So I tried to get smart and attempted to add the mail-noreply@google.com into todoist so that it will accept email from that address, but I got an error message.

Now, this seems to be such a common need that there's got to be a solution - so please advise.

Hello,

unfortunately, it's not possible. For security reasons, every email address added to Todoist has to be verified.

The only workaround you could try is to forward your Gmail mails to a different email account not hosted by Google, verify it and then set a forwarding rule for the second address to send all mails coming from your Gmail account to Todoist.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

David

Can you think of one that doesn't require verification?

Unfortunately, this is the only solution to avoid Google's verification without using an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

What is the only solution to avoid Google's verification? Perhaps you misunderstood my follow-up question. You wrote that I can forward my gmail to different email account. That makes sense - so I am just asking if you know email providers that I can forward to that would not require verification, like Google does.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. You can create a Windows Live Hotmail account http://www.hotmail.com/ which doesn't require verification for mail forwarding.

After signing in, choose "more options" from the "Options" link in the top-right corner and then "Email forwarding" from the "Managing your account" section.
