Karma points for completed projects?
i'm a bit new to Todoist in that i've only recently begun using it faithfully-- i adore it!
i am wondering why we don't get "credit" for completing *entire projects*. tasks are awesome, but the reason tasks are there is so that we can conquer large milestones, i.e., projects. what am i missing? :)

Technically, you can't complete projects in Todoist. They're mainly used as "categories" or "folders" to which you put tasks that have a common theme or are related in any way (home, work etc.).
They can indeed be used differently, though and after you're done with a project, you can archive it, but this won't give you Karma points.
As a workaround, you could either create a tasks/sub-tasks structure where the main task would represent the final goal or simply add a "special" task to each project which would be "Complete all tasks" (in this project) and check it off once you're done with everything else and it's time to archive the project.
