'Mystery' times appearing in recurring annual events
I have a project called 'Annual' in which I list birthdays and anniversaries for family and friends. When I entered these 'tasks' (via web browser) I simply entered the date on which they occurred (e.g. 'ev 10 nov'). However, when looking at these tasks in my iPhone app, many of them (about half of 46 entries) list a specific time when the event occurs (e.g. '10 November at 10:59pm'). The times do not show in the browser lists, only in the iPhone lists, and I cannot seem to delete the time of day (which I did not enter). Any suggestions? (I am using an iPhone 4S, running iOS 6.1.3 and version 6.0.3 (11018) of Todoist. Using a Mac OSX 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5 for the browser.)

I believe this might just be a glitch on the iOS side of things and there isn't any time attached to the task. I would suggest creating a new task, for today or tomorrow the same way you created those ones, and see if a time appears on iOS.
A simple logging out and back in could resolve this issue. I will let the developers know about this and see if it's a normal thing to happen.

The 'mystery' deepens. Annoyed at this 'glitch', I manually went through my list (on the iPhone) and re-entered the dates. This seemed to solve the problem, however, it created a new one! When I checked the corresponding list in my browser, the dates of all the entries I had changed were one day out of whack -- they had all been put back by one day. So I then went through and changed the list in the browser to the correct day, thinking that this would solve the problem once and for all. Unfortunately not! Back to the iPhone, and the initial problem had recurred -- the entries I had just fixed in the browser were now showing up with a time (e.g. every 19 Nov at 11.59pm). There is something seriously wrong in the way the 2 apps/data sets are syncing!
At first glance it seemed you were having issues with a time appearing on tasks when you did not add a time. Now with your second reply, it sounds like the time is just wrong.
If the time is wrong, then it sounds like its a Timezone issue. Please make sure your iPhone, desktop and every device is set to the same Timezone. Todoist usually asks you to adjust to a certain Timezone if it detects a change, and you should accept this change.

They are random times (all seem to be 10:59pm). I have not entered a specific time, only a date. I do not want a specific time to be there -- just the date.

Thanks Brendon. Another update. There is now an hour difference between times being dsiplayed in the ipHone app and the times displayed in the browser. (Both are set to the same timezone.)
Please clarify, go to Todoist.com, top right corner, Settings. And on that new pop-up, the Timezone is set to EST?
We confirmed your computers/iPhone are set to this, but never actually confirmed Todoist. From the developers, they say this should only be caused by the Timezone differences. Please confirm.

The time zone setting in my todoist settings (MAC OSX, via Safari) is set to Australia/Canberra. My time zone setting in my todoist app (iOS) is set to Australian/Canberra. I can send you screen shots if you like?
Are you currently in the Daylight Saving Time zone? If so, please make sure that the DST settings aren't affecting the time zone. Most operating systems have a way to "adjust DST settings" automatically and this option should be used otherwise, if you would change the time to DST manually, that could cause the delay.
Also, have you traveled between time zones? If you did and have used Todoist in a different zone without adjusting it, this could also cause such problem.
Unfortunately, so far we weren't able to reproduce this issue across all platforms.

No, I am not currently in a daylight savings time zone. Daylight savings 'kicks in' in eastern Australia in late October and runs through until the end of March. I have not crossed a time zone recently either. My computers and phone automatically adjust their time settings depending on my location.
I'm new to Todoist but my settings are the same on the phone and computer.
The issue is not just the time difference when I enter times on the phone, it is also the issue of certain recurring events having a mystery time attached to them (all of them are 10.59pm) that I did not enter???
Unfortunately, so far I can't reproduce this issue under any circumstance.The issue with tasks having incorrect times is very typical to the one that happens when Todoist is accessed on devices with incorrect time zones or settings. Please try to actually switch of automatic time settings (especially on your phone) and add 1 task to see if this issue persists.
As for the problem with seeing due times in tasks - every task that doesn't have a due time specified, has actually a hidden time property set to 11:59. The fact that you see it as 10:59, aside from being a problem why you see it in the first place, also shows a 1 hour delay, but unfortunately, I can't reproduce this either.
Please clarify - does this time appear only on the iPhone app or when you sync your tasks using your phone this time also shows up through your browser? This would help us at least narrow down the possible cause of this issue to the iOS app.

David, the time appears only in the lists on the iPhone app. I've tried lots of things, delete and reinstall the iOS app, reset the time zones on both iPhone and browser versions to various options (though always the same). It is really quite annoying. I'm thinking of heading back to Remember the Milk or Toodledo! I can't afford to have a todo list system that wont properly sync between devices!
I hope you are able to resolve this issue, but it doesn't sound hopeful.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but we still can't reproduce this issue. It's the first time we've received such report and whatever we try, no task gets either an incorrect due date or a time attached to it (if it hasn't one specified). We've used similar dates to the one you've posted ("ev 10 Nov", "every 20 September" etc.).
I will pass it to the developers, but without knowing what triggers this issue it's very difficult to find its origin, but we'll continue to do so.
