What is the new 'Inbox' feature for?
Todoist now shows an 'Inbox' tab (on the web).
What is this one for? Is it just a 'Misc' folder, or is there something special about it?

I just wanted to say thank you for creating todoist! I love it! I love the hotkeys, repeating task options, the UI / UX...everything. I use it constantly each day :)

Make the "Inbox" hideable via settings.
One principle of "Getting Things Done" is that stuff lingering at the back of your head is killing your productivity, because it will keep jumping into the foreground and disturb whatever you are currently working on.
To avoid this, you need to get thoughts out of your head and into an "inbox". This inbox must be
- so fast and easy to use that you will really always use it (instead of storing these thoughts in the back of your head)
- reliable, meaning that you know for sure that you won't lose whatever you put in there and will be able to retrieve it later.
I've had an "inbox" project, before Todoist introduced it. Whenever a thought pops into my head I put it right there, no labels, due date, reminder, note - simply get it out of my head a fast as possible so that I can continue working on whatever I am working on. A few times a day, after I've finished a task, I clean up my inbox, meaning that I move all tasks into their proper project, add a due date and reminder and labels as required.
I like it, because I have always used it; I can understand though that people with a different workflow would like to get rid of it ...

I thought that the "Inbox" feature was a way of sending tasks to pre-approved friends, like in Wedoist. This feature isn't quite what I was expecting, but still seems useful.
Although it would be helpful to integrate Wedoist with Todoist... Maybe in the future?
integration between Todoist and Wedoist is an often requested feature; if you haven't already done so, you might want to vote for it: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/46/
The Doist team keeps telling us that they're working on improvements to Wedoist, including integration with Todoist and that we might see those improvements "hopefully later this year". We'll see ...
Hi Kenneth, it doesn't matter to me, whether Todoist provides an "Inbox" or not. It's part of my workflow for sure, but I had a manually created one long before Todoist added it by default and I can easily go back to that at any time.
I fully understand why people might not like having this project forced upon them and would not mind the slightest bit if the Doist team would make it optional or completely remove it, again.
Actually, I'd rather have the Doist people work on major improvements like the combination of Todoist and Wedoist than such minor features as an automatic "inbox" project.
I love the new inbox and, like others, I park tasks there and then sort them to other projects with my daily Todoist sessions at work and at home.
It also allows me to use Siri with Todoist. I use the Todoist e-mail feature to send tasks to my inbox. I had to name my inbox "Fred" in the contacts so that it wasn't confusing the Todoist inbox with my e-mail inbox.

Fantastic! It was a pain to enter a project for tasks on my phone when I just wanted to get something out of my head. This has done the job nicely.

Is there a way to make my iPhone have Inbox open by default? It shows Today as default and I don't typically put due dates.
