How do I integrate Todoist with gmail and google calendar?

I downloaded Todoist for Google Chrome (or at least I think I did) because it is advertised as integrating with gmail and google calendar. But it is not clear to me how to make that happen. Thank you!

Hello Laura,

the Gmail integration allows you to add links to your emails as tasks. In order to do so, please log in to your Gmail account, select an email, then open the Todoist plugin, access a project and at the bottom of your task list (next to "Add task" and "Reorder") you will find an "Add Email" link which will add a link to this email as a task.

While you're not on the Gmail page, you will see "Add link" in the same place which will allow you to easily add a link to the page you're currently on.

As for Google Calendar integration - go to:
https://www.google.com/calendar/

In the menu at the left side, you'll find two lists: "My calendars" and "Other calendars". Open "Other calendars" and choose "Add" -> "Add by URL" (or, in the new view, click on the small arrow icon next to "Other calendars" and choose "Add by URL from there). A new window will appear where you'll be able to enter your Todoist iCal feed.

You can find the URL on the Todoist website by going to Preferences -> General. It's at the bottom of the window.

This way you can also integrate Todoist's iCal feed with other calendar software incl. Outlook.

In the Any.Do solution, they add at the bottom of each Gmail a small icon where you can add an Any.Do task, related to the current opened mail .
Are you aware of this? Seems to me a better solution? Is it feasible ? Is it in your plan?

Anyway, I like very much your solution, the GUI and the fact that you can organize your tasks with project and label ... Hands Up !

Oups ... I just see that your solution ... When you're in Gmail, click on the ToDoIst plugin and click on add Email ...

Hi,

I'm trying to integrate my todoist with google calendar. I did what you said above, but it didn't work. My google calendar page get loading for a long time with the message "Importing data from URL" and anything else happens.

May you help me?

Hello Tarsis,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, this may happen due to server overload. Please try to add the iCal feed to your Google Calendar and once you see the "Importing data..." message, close the calendar. Google should then attempt to sync it multiple times automatically and will most likely succeed within 12-24 hours and the feed will be added.
