Hello Stewart,
Please tell me - are you using Chinese characters within the task names? Could you please try to set a test task with Latin letters, set an SMS reminder to it and let me know if you'll see the content of the task within this reminder?
Also, if you're using an Android phone or an iOS device, you could receive push notifications instead when using the Todoist app.
Best regards,
David

Stewart,
Thank you for the clarification, I will pass it to our developers and we'll look into it if it's possible to support Chinese characters through our SMS service.
For now, as a workaround, you could try to select "Email reminders" as the default way of receiving notifications and use the email address you're using with Todoist on your Blackberry. This way, each time you receive a reminder, you will be notified that you've got an email.
Best regards,
David

Hello Stewart,
We've contacted our SMS provider and unfortunately, Chinese characters will not be supported as this is a limitation on their end (by the SMS provider). We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
David
