Postponed events returned to original dates
As mentioned on twitter, some overdue tasks that I postponed keep showing up on the original date (1-2 days ago). Using Chrome, hard refresh and cache clearing did not help. Your assistance appreciated as always!

Please tell me - how exactly did you postpone them? By right-clicking and using "postpone" or "do it today", by multi-selecting them and using one of these features on all selected tasks or by dragging & dropping them to different days or to the "postpone" box?
Also, could you please post an example of a certain due date formula used which you postpone with no effect?
The items did finally "agree" to be postponed last night when I multi-selected and hit "postpone" on the top-bar. But for future reference, the original method was multi-selecting and using the new "move to date" feature. The formula that was on both of these items, and the same one I tried to apply, was "ev day starting tod". I basically was trying to shift them from 1-2 days ago to "today", rather than postponing them directly (which would move them to tomorrow). That clearly didn't work! They would seem to "accept" the change and disappear from the original date, but would reappear almost immediately on the original (past due) date.
Hope this helps,
There are three date-related options for multi-selecting:
- Change date
- and the new "Do it today".
The "change date" option which allows you to set a different due date for the selected tasks doe not work on recurring task. If you've used this option then no recurring tasks would have been changed.
The "Postpone" option would indeed move these tasks to their next occurrences, but if you want to shift tasks to "today", you can use the new "Do it today" option.
Hmmm, David, I guess that I didn't ever try to use "change date" before this. That indeed explains why it didn't work!
Does "Do it today" work for recurring tasks without "destroying" their recurrence? I did not try it since I assumed it would just switch the due date to "today" without preserving the recurrence previously defined.
Thanks for clearing this up, super-helpful as always,
Technically, the "Do it today" option should maintain the recurrence, but unfortunately, we're experiencing an issue with it. While it does keep the formula and, for example, if you have a task due "ev 1" (every first day of the month) and set it to "do today" on the 5th, then it will recur every 5th day of the month.
We hope to fix this soon, but if your task recurs "every day", then feel free to use this feature as it naturally won't alter the recurrence.
