Hello Alex,
If you click on a task's name to enter edit mode, there are two arrow icons on the right side of the task input field - one to indent and the other one to unindent it.
Also, you can use the keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+RightArrow and Ctrl+LeftArrow to indent/unindent a task (or project).
Best regards,
David

OK thanks. Now I've just figured out I have no control over the sort order of today's tasks - is that correct?

Hello Alex,
By default, tasks on the "today" list are sorted primarily by due time, then by priority and the rest is grouped by project. You have limited control over this order, you can drag & drop tasks on this list, but this will affect the general position of tasks with the same property. For example - if you put tasks with priority 3 at the top, above tasks with priority 1, new tasks with !p3 will be added to the top as well.
Best regards,
David
