out of sync, todoist unusable
It keeps giving me error message about being out of sync, please relogin. I tried clearing cookies and starting over, but as soon as i log in, it goes into the endless loop again.

"Could not sync with Todoist. Will go into offline mode and try to sync again later."
And then it will let me work for a few seconds, but the page will reload and kill whatever I was working on and go to an endless loop of this error message:
"It seems like our session has expired. Please re-login. OK[button]" You press OK and it immediately reloads with the same error.
Please tell me:
- Are you referring to the web-app, one of our plugins or mobile apps?
- Can you reproduce this issue in at least one different browser? If so - which browsers did you use>
- Are you sharing your network connection with others or are there any apps running in the background that may use the full bandwidth?

Web app on Firefox 18.0, Windows 7. Then tried on IE 9.0.8 which nearly crashed the browser after I entered the login information and submitted. 5 minutes later it comes up with a bunch of duplicate projects and the browser is noticeably bogged down - can barely scroll down the page to see the duplicate projects and duplicate tasks. I close out IE completely and tried again, and it had 30 duplicates of one project, and all current tasks gone across all projects. The duplicated projects had 131 duplicated completed tasks in each.

Any updates? I was thinking of trying the Windows app, but please let me know if you think I might make it worse by continuing to tinker.
Unfortunately, this issue turns out to be caused by a recent outage we were experiencing (around the time when you've reported this issue). Although it will be necessary to manually remove the duplicated projects, this issue will not occur in the future. After identifying the source of it, we've implemented some new mechanisms on our end to prevent any further outages. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm not sure. It still is giving me the non-stop error: "It seems like our session has expired. Please re-login." I have tried clearing my cache and cookies, as well as rebooting the computer. It does this on Firefox 18.0.1. On IE 9.0.8 it still takes forever to login, near crashing IE for ~5 minutes then finally loads but lags too much to perform any actions. (Same Windows 7 machine.)
I just installed the Windows app and logged in and it immediately froze/crashed after logging in. Trying again it kinda worked for a while and I started deleting duplicate projects but it eventually kicked me out from session expiration. Also when I was in there it looked weird (no scrollbar) and had no option to log out. I closed out and tried again a few times until I got all the duplicates deleted. Still I have sync and session expired issues when I try to use Todoist.
So I think there's something wrong with *MY* account specifically.

I seem to be able to log in using IE now that I have deleted all the duplicates using the Windows app, including the original. (There were two projects that were duplicated many times with up to 135 duplicate tasks in each project.) However each of those old projects had a new duplicate show up after a few minutes of being logged in.
Waiting another 25 minutes it seems to be stable in IE, but Firefox still has major sync issues. Do you know what else I can do besides clearing cookies and cache?
So now you've deleted all duplicated projects? If not, try to go to https://todoist.com/m (using Firefox or Chrome, try to avoid IE), it will surely load for a while, but once it does, scroll down to the bottom of your project list, click "Manage projects" and then delete the duplicated project by clicking on the red icon on the left side and then "Delete" on the right side.

These instructions gave sync errors in Firefox, but worked fine in IE. However, the deleted projects still respawned a few new ones a few minutes later. I left IE open and there were no more respawns until this morning when I looked it had created 2 more of both of the offending duplicating projects.
There is a major sync problem my account has with Firefox and I think maybe there is some way to clear it out of Firefox and start from scratch, but I don't know what that method would be. I am not getting sync errors in IE, but still getting the duplicated projects so I don't know if those two are related.
The source of this issue was most likely our outage a couple of days ago. If you've even tried to use Todoist at this time, it's possible that the action "create project x" has repeated itself mutiple times within the cache and now when you go online, it's trying to be executed again.
Clearing the cache completely should have solved this problem, but it has to be both - the cache and the offline app data. Both can be cleared in Firefox's Options -> Advanced -> Network tab. Please try to do so (or try to check if the issue persists when you use the Private Browsing mode in Firefox - Ctrl+Shift+P) and if this won't help, please let me know how much data is stored by Todoist in Firefox (it's listed at the bottom of the "Network" tab and shouldn't be more than 300-500KB).

I'm also having this issue, and when I CAN login (get past the "it seems our session has expired"), I'm unable to view my most recently added tasks! This is a huge problem for me because these were extremely important notes that I needed to use for work.
Thank you TODOist. I'm never going to use you again.

I just was able to get in, but it seems that I've nearly all of the data that I created in the past day.
Please clarify - did you enter tasks in offline mode through the web-app, then synchronized the changes at some point and now these tasks are gone? Also, please tell me:
- What browser are you using?
- Can you reproduce this issue in a different browser (if so - which one).
We're very sorry for this inconvenience, the safety of your data is our top priority and we would appreciate all details you can provide reg. this issue so we can identify and fix it as soon as we can.

David, I had not previously cleared the offline app data because I didn't know about it. It was 385KB. I cleared it, the cache, and the cookies all at once, then the sync problem was resolved. Thanks so much!
Also the respawning projects issue seems to be gone or at least dying down. I didn't have any new respawns this morning.
