Thunderbird plugin doesn't work
Hello,
I've recently installed todoist thunderbird extension, but apparently it doesn't work properly. In fact it doesn't work at all - I can't see TD icon anywhere, even though the extension has status "on" in extension manager.
I'am using Windows 7 on PC with latest release of Mozilla Thunderbird.

Hi,
try the following:
right click on the toolbar and select "customize" (or something like this, my Thunderbird isn't in english)
Scroll down and you will see the todoist button
drag and drop it to the toolbar
Thats all

Found it, launched it, works perfect.
Thanks a lot!

Sure. I open the sidebar.
And then a I see nothing but an empty sidebar with Todoist at the top.
No ability to log in, specify an account, specify an API token, etc. There is no 'options' button in the add-ons manager, either. How on earth do I link my account with the plugin?

Hello Galen,
Please try to right-click within the empty pane or the top of it and see if you'll get a context menu allowing you to refresh or log out.
If this won't work, open Firefox (our plugin uses Firefox's settings), go to Options -> Privacy, choose "Use custom settings for history" and make sure that both first- and third-party cookies are accepted. You can also try to clear Firefox's cache and offline app data.
Best regards,
David

Right. I generally disallow 3rd party cookies -- do you know what sites I'd need to white-list?

Galen,
Please try to whitelist todoist.com and cloudfront.net (an Amazon Web Service - our host).
Best regards,
David

I couldn't get a context menu to pop up & allowing cookies didn't seem to have an impact. However, after clearing my offline data and cache, it worked.
Now to explore settings/see if I can get a CSS working to set the colors as I like. =)

I am using NOSCRIPT in Firefox and it was necessary to add todoist.com and cloudfront.net to the noscript whitelist to get it todoist working in thunderbird. all good now.

I have the same issue as the original post: I've installed the Thunderbird Extension, but there is no Todoist icon. However, when I right-click > Customize on the toolbar, there is no Todoist icon to choose from, either.
I'm running Thunderbird 17.0.4 on Linux Mint.

Hello George,
Please try to update to Thunderbird 17.0.5 and if the issue persist there as well, please tell me - do you see the Todoist plugin on the Add-ons list? If so - is it activated?
Best regards,
David

Hi David, I updated and the problem is fixed! Sorry for bugging you on an old version, I had checked for Thunderbird updates yesterday and none had been available so I thought I was safe :)
Hi,
I have a similar problem with TB 17.0.5: I can see the login and it seems to recognize what I am typing (complains if I use a wrong passwd). But nothing happens if I use the right passwd and the right login! The login just remains unchanged although it seems to do some data correspondence as I can see below.
On firefox 20.0 everything is fine. I tried to clear cache and history but didn't work out for TB. I allready tried to reinstall todoist. Nothing. Any ideas?
I am using LinuxMint
Best regards,
Thies

Hello Thies,
Please install Firefox 20.0.1, go to Firefox's Options -> Privacy, choose "Custom settings for history" and make sure that both first- and third-party cookies are accepted.
Best regards,
David
