Hello Scott,
Please make sure that the Todoist calendar is selected (active) and that it's fully loaded (and that you have tasks with due dates). Also, if you've added the calendar while not having any tasks with due dates and then added such tasks, the changes will be reflected after a day. Unfortunately this is a limitation on Google's side and the iCal feed is updated instantly when used with other calendars than Google Calendar.
Best regards,
David

So to be clear.... :)
Any tasks I want to add to my google calendar will not be visible until the next day? Is this just for today, or a permanent bug?
(I've added new tasks (as instructed) with dates and time and they are still not showing.)
But, if I add todoist to my ical, then my tasks will be seen instantly on my calendar?
Thanks.

Scott,
There are two different actions you're considering.
1. Adding events directly to your Google calendar - this can be done regardless of whether you use Todoist or not. If you just add an event to your Google Calendar, it should appear instantly in your Google Calendar. This has nothing to do with Todoist.
2. Synchronizing your Todoist tasks with Google Calendar - this can be done using the iCal feed as shown in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzGubOy8GuE If you add this feed to any calendar software (such as Outlook's calendar, Apple iCalendar etc.), each time you add a task to Todoist, it will show up in the calendar. However, if you synchronize the feed with Google Calendar, it will show up the next day which is something we unfortunately have no control over as this is how Google treats iCal feeds - they refresh them once a day and there is no option to reload them manually. We hope Google will change this behavior in the future.
Best regards,
David
