Hello,
The Todoist for Windows app indeed requires an internet connection. You can disconnect after you log in and continue to work offline, but after you close the app, please connect to the internet before you open it again.

Please tell me:
- Can you access your Todoist account directly through http://todoist.com ?
- Did you try to right-click on the system tray icon, choose "Logout" and then retry?
- Are you using a regular login (typing your email/password) or the "Log In using Google Account" option?
