Mac app not working

Hi,

I am using os x 10.8.2
if i start the mac app i get the intro window and i then click on login.
i get a box with 2 choices 'login w/google' or 'username/pw'

I click on login w/google and the window becomes unresponsive, i.e., nothing happens and anything else i click in the window is unresponsive.
if i restart the app same cycle.

any suggestions other than use the web browser?
