What is supposed to be added to todoist when you add an outlook email as a task?
I added an email from outlook as a task to a project. I refreshed my web version to see how it would work and frankly what is displayed is useless to me...this is what showed for an email I moved using the outlook plugin. Below is what shows as the task name. what happens to the body of the email which has important detail when adding it as a task. Am I doing something wrong?

there are two features that allow you to manage your emails with Todoist.
1. Linking to the message in a task. This is the feature you're referring to. To use it, you need one of our plugins. If you open a message you can use the "Add email as task" link to add it to your to-do list. The message itself will not be saved only a link to it just as the one you've posted. This link can only be opened with your email client (such as Outlook or GMail).
2. Sending/forwarding a message to Todoist. This feature allows you to send a message via email to Todoist and it will become a task. The subject of the message will be the task name and the full content of the message - a task note. This feature does not require any plugins.
To get detailed information about the second option, please enter a project, you'll see small gear icons on the right side of each task and also one icon on the right side of the header at the top showing the name of the project you're in. Click on the icon at the top (it will say "Task Actions" when you hover over it) and choose "Email tasks to this project" from the drop-down menu. Here, you'll find all instructions and explanations about how this feature works incl. the unique email address you can use to send your tasks to.
It sounds like option 2 is what I'm looking for, however after following your instructions and selecting EMAIL TASKS TO THIS PROJECT, an internet explorer session automatically opens up as an error page. My default browser is firefox. Based on your comments you say - after selecting the EMAIL TASKS TO THIS PROJECT...Here, you'll find all instructions and explanations about how this feature works incl. the unique email address you can use to send your tasks to - there are no instructions that display. can you please advise further on this option?
I found the instructions and have added a basic email as a test - so the subject becomes the task name and the body of this email just had some text. When I select the task link from the outlook add-in it opens the email it's connected to - great. When I go back to the web version and click on the link...my expectation was to see all the email body content added as a note and it was not. From the iphone app the task displays but will not open. Am I misunderstanding the functionality of this option?
My goal is I need to be able to add an email as a task from outlook - to have the subject line as the task name is perfect and it's even more perfect to have the body of the email added as a note, however this feature does not appear to be functioning as described. I should be able to go to any other computer where outlook is not available and go to an internet session, login to todoist and see this task and the notes without issue. This will not even open up when you select it from the web app.

The feature you were describing was the one you've used before. The one I'm referring to will actually allow you to send the full email to Todoist and make it accessible without Outlook on any device.
Again, the instructions should appear if accessed directly through the web-app and not Outlook. If you have any further questions regarding this or any other features, feel free to ask anytime.
