Bug with reminders

When I set a task then type <remind 1 hour before>, then press tab and type a date and time the reminder is not working. It shows the reminder symbol, but when I right click and click on reminders it shows no reminders have been set. If I set the date and time, press enter, then edit the task with the text <remind 1 hour before> it works. This is a pretty serious problem and has burned me a couple of times before I figured out what was going on.

Hello RJ,

If you're setting reminders within the task name, please use a specific date as this function should be used with absolute reminders. For example, you can type <remind tomorrow at 2pm>.

If you prefer relative reminders (set to a certain time before the deadline), such reminders are set automatically to 30 minutes before to any task with a due time if you choose a default reminder method in Preferences -> Reminders. You can also add a relative reminder after adding the task by right-clicking on at and choosing "Reminders".

Okay. Is this the intended behavior? If so, you need to change it so that the reminder symbol does not show up when a reminder has not really been set! This will help to avoid confusion.

RJ,

Todoist only supports absolute reminders (such as <remind tom at 10am>) if they're added through a task. I will forward your report to the developers and we will remove the reminder icon from display when a reminder isn't being set.

Thank you very much for your report and sorry for any inconvenience this issue has caused you.

Best regards,
David

RJ,

This issue has now been fixed. An attempt to add a <x hours before> reminder within a task will not display the clock icon in the task and a popup help-menu will appear informing that such reminders must have a specific date/time.

Best regards,
David

David,

That was fast. I appreciate Todoist's efforts to provide good support. Thanks.
