custom score or points per taks - API question

I'm probably going to buy the 'pro' version to see my completed tasks, but one task equals to one 'point'.

I would like to see that in an upcomping version.

But I need it quick so this is my workaround, could you confirm that my idea is workable?

1/ I add 'custom points' to every task (Put garbage out [2])
2/ Through API get all completed tasks
3/ create custom calculations for my custom points
