how come I cant select a priority when adding a task, only after?
I have to add it first and then click on the gear and select priority? I can set priority on the add task on the Iphone app but not on the desk top. Am i missing something??

there are two ways of setting a priority for a task, the first one - as you've mentioned, you can right-click on an added task to see the context menu or you can type: !p1, !p2 or !p3 within the task name which will set s priority for it right away.
