How private is data please? where is it stored? where does it go? how is it prevented from being seen? (I like the software and internet systems! But, I do need to be careful about putting confidential client topics on it..) Good work on the system. Probably will buy premium. Thanks.

your data is stored on our host - Amazon Web Services, one of the world's largest hosting service trusted by many corporations. You can read detailed information about AWS' security measurements here: http://aws.amazon.com/security/
On our side, none of your data is ever seen and the Daily Digest which includes your task is generated automatically.

A follow up question. I too have a security concern.
I note the connection when using data is not https so there is no secure connection between the pc and your data store. Is this correct?
Also is the data stored on the servers encrypted and if so who holds the encryption keys?
your email/password data is encrypted when you log in regardless of your account status. Todoist Premium also allows further encryption after you log in.
Passwords are hashed/salted and all your data is being stored securely on one of the world's largest and trusted by major companies - Amazon Web Services hosting. You can read detailed information about AWS' security measurements here: http://aws.amazon.com/security/
