Not showing in Outlook?
Hi, I'm using Outlook 2007 and just installed the Todoist plug-in, but can't see it on screen. Where should I see it?
I looked back through previous questions and saw various answers about going to the Trust Center, so I followed those steps, but Todoist doesn't appear in the list of COM Add-ins at all. Any ideas?

please go to your system's Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and see if there's "OutlookTodoist" on the list. If it is, remove it and then follow the steps below. If it's not, simply follow these steps:
1. Install these applications:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4 ( http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992 ) and
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=06c32242-2289-4471-93aa-ce96aa5cbc36 )
2. Download the Outlook plugin and save it locally on your computer.
3. Right-click on the downloaded file and choose "Run as Administrator" (or "Run As..." in Windows XP) and install it.

"OutlookTodoist" does NOT appear on the Add/Remove Programs list (I checked alphabetically and by date)
I already have the .net framework installed (in fact I have 4.5 beta - could that be causing a problem?)
I installed the Visual Studio Tools, and followed the rest of the steps but got an error message "the latest version of this customisation is already installed"
It's still not showing in the Add/Remove programs list.
Any other ideas?
it is theoretically possible that the beta version of the .NET Framework may cause some issues. It would be great if you could uninstall all parts of the .NET Framework installed on your computer, restart it, install the Framework I've linked to above and see if it helps.
Also, what operating system are you using?
Please note that we're currently working on a new version of our Outlook plugin which will be released soon.
please open Internet Explorer and try to access this site: http://todoist.com?mini=1 If you can log into it, do so and without logging out, open Outlook with the Todoist plugin.
Make sure you have downloaded all the latest system updates for Internet Explorer as our plugin uses it to connect to Todoist. Also, try to clear its cache on the "General" tab (use the "Delete" button in the "Browsing history section".
If this won't work, please use the folowing settings in Internet Explorer's Internet Options:
- in the "Security" tab, set the "Internet" security to medium-high or lower, on the "Trusted Sites" list add todoist.com
- in the "Privacy" tab, set it to medium or lower, on the "Sites" list, set todoist.com to "Allow". In the "Advanced" section, check "Override automatic cookie handling" and set both options to "Accept"
- in the "Content" tab use the "clear SSL state" button.

I'm using Outlook 2007 on Win7, I've got both NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010 Tools installed, but Todoist plugin is not appearing in add/remove programs, nor is it appearing in the list of Outlook plugins, and yet when I try to install it it says it's already installed. Any ideas?
please tell me - are you the only user on your computer with full administrative rights? If not, please try to find "OutlookTodoist" in the Add/Remove list through all your accounts incl. the admin account, remove it and try to install it through a different account (or vice-versa - if it's installed on a guest account, re-install is "as admin).

Basically having the same problems installing as Mary and Peter above. I'm running Outlook 2010 and Win 7. I have .NET Framework 4 and Visual Studio 2010 Tools. I've run install as administrator and am the only user on this machine. The installer (after multiple tries) tells me it's already installed, but it doesn't show up on my Control Panel Programs list or my COM Add-ins. Anything else I can try?
Please try to go to your system's Control Panel -> Programs and Features, uninstall "OutlookTodoist" and then reinstall it again.
Make sure Outlook is closed during the installation and if it won't work on first attempts, retry it a couple of times.
We're sorry for the inconvenience, we're currently working a lot of improvements for this plugin and we plan to improve the installer as well which should permanently solve this issue.

No dice. I uninstalled it under Control Panel and reinstalled, all with Outlook closed. Still isn't opening in Outlook and is not showing up under COM Add-ins. Tried this a few times, from both accounts on my computer.
We're sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we don't have any other solution for this issue right now, but it will be addressed in the next update of the Outlook app which should be available soon.
For now, just to clarify, when you've checked the COM Add-ins menu, you did click on "Go" next to "COM Add-ins" at the bottom to see the plugin list in a popup window (this is where it should be listed and activated)?

No worries, I'll wait for the next update.
I can confirm that the plugin does NOT appear in the COM Add-ins menu after I install it using the download. The dialog box after I install it says it is installed and if I try and reinstall it, it tells me it is already installed. But it never shows up in Outlook COM Add-ins.
