Recurring reminder doesnt work
Hello!
I added a recurring reminder to one of my tasks: "every day @ 13:00" (mobile). But this does not work. I dont get a daily sms. Other reminders like real dates do work. Is that a bug or did i something wrong?

Hello Sascha,
please tell me:
- Do you receive a test message if you use the "Send a test" option in Todoist Preferences -> Reminders?
- What method are you using to add a reminder? Do you type <remind every day at 13:00> within the task name or do you use "Reminders" from the gear icon menu?
Best regards,
David

Hello David,
- I receive the test message and i also received other messages when i used an exact (real) date for the reminder.
- in this case i used the point "Reminder" from the menu to set it up with the formular. But i will try it by typing the reminder behind the task name as you mentioned it.

Sascha

Hello again,
tested it just this minute with adding <remind every day at 17:14> behind the task name (this is my local time). And it worked! So the problem seems to be adding it with the "Reminder formular" by the menu.

Sascha

Sascha,
please try to add a recurring reminder set to every day @ some hour in the nearest future using the "Reminders" option from the gear menu, but set it as an email reminder and let me know it you will receive it.
If you do, could you try adding another mobile reminders using the gear menu? It's possible that it might have been a temporary glitch at the time that you've set the recurring reminder earlier, but it would be very helpful to check if that's the case and if you can receive an email reminder with the same format.
Best regards,
David

Hello David,
i dont know why but at the moment nothing seems to work right. It makes no difference if use email/mobile or if i use the reminder gear menu or the <remind ....> command behind the task name. At the moment i neither get any reminder sms nor any reminder emails. BUT: Test SMS still do work. Yesterday the reminders using the <remind> command did work, but today they dont. Its a little confusing but maybe its a just temporary problem.

Sascha

Sascha,
indeed, there seems to be an issue with the reminders today. I've forwarded it to the developers and we will try to fix it as soon as possible.
I will inform you once it's fixed so you can confirm if it could have been the same issue affecting your mobile reminders recently.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
David

Hello David,
current status: everything seems to be working fine. I get email reminders as well as sms reminders regardless of which method i use to add them (gear menu / <remind>). For the future of course its very important that everything works absolutely reliable so you can really rely on the reminders . But for sure sms is never a reliable service. It would be nice if you could implement push-reminders and offline-reminders which are set/updated every time when you sync yourself with the internet.

Sascha
