When I move my outlook mail to a different folder (not to deleted Items).
Hi,
I add an email in Inbox to the task in Todoist. After this I move my mail from Inbox to another folder under Inbox (to keep my Inbox clean), but then after that I am not able to retrieve the email by clicking on the link in the Todoist task??
The same works in Gmail - I archive the gmail and I would be able to open the gmail by clicking on the link in the Todoist task.
Thanks & regards,
Shankar

Hello Shankar,
unfortunately, I can't reproduce neither of these issues. Please tell me:
- Are you using an Exchange Server with Outlook?
- Does this and the issue with GMail happen instantly? If you archive a GMail email and then use the previously added task, does it stop working right away or after a certain time?
- Are you using Google Apps and/or multi-accounts?
Best regards,
David

Hi David,
Yes, I do use Exchange server with Outlook. I don't have any problems with Gmail. It is only with outlook.
It happens consistently. I am not able to open the mail from the link after the mail has been moved to a different folder from Inbox. This makes the outlook plugin useless for me. !
Thanks & regards,
Shankar

This is an issue with the way outlook works. The GUID it uses to identify the email is not a GUID! if you move an email to a new folder then the ID changes which is a real pain!
One way round is to move it to the folder before creating the task.
Another would be for todoist to have a folder (which is what I did with a hacked macro) to move it to a subfolder ..say tasks first then create it.

Perhaps we should add a feature request
