Outlook 2007 issue: Outbound email stays stuck in the Outbox if Todoist for Outlook Add-in is enabled

I am using Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 machine.

When I have the Todoist for Outlook Add-in enabled, emails I send stay stuck in the Outbox. If I write an email, the email goes into the Outbox OK, but it does not leave the Outbox. It is not in italics (as it should be when it is queued for a send), but rather stays in the normal non-italic font. No matter how many times I open the email and hit the Send button, it never changes to italics and it never leaves the Outbox.

The only solution I have found is to disable the Todoist Add-in.

I would like to try using Todoist with Outlook but obviously I can't since it makes using Outlook for email impossible.

I have searched through the help forum files and have not seen anyone report anything like this.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?

Hello Hugh,

indeed there seems to be a bug. I've forwarded this to the developers.

Thank you for pointing it out and sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks, Dave. It's not a consistent problem - it happend between half and three-quarters of the time I send an email.

I have rebooted and the problem is still there.

I have also disabled other Add-Ons (like Xobni) that I thought might be causing a problem with Todoist. Still no joy.

I'm running Windows 7 with SP1, Build 7601

Microsoft Outlook 2007 with SP2 (12.0.6554.5001)

Loving the program and hope I can get it working with Outlook!

I found a workaround for this problem and hopefully this is helpful to you:

1. Disable Todoist
2. Open the Outlook Calendar in a new window
3. From the Outlook Calendar, enable Todoist

Now Todoist only shows up in the Calendar window and email works OK.

It's quite clumsey when you have to restart Outlook but it works.

Hello Hugh,

thanks for the workaround :)

We're still working on fixing this bug and we're sorry for any inconvenience it may cause you.

I installed Todoist for Outlook 2007 running Windows 7 pro. I can't find it in my outlook. Restarted several times. I find no place to enable/disable or view it as a toolbar option.
Please help.

Hello Seth,

Please follow these steps:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Trust center".
3. Select the "Add-ins" tab.

If nothing else went wrong during the installation, you should see Todoist listed there as an inactive add-in.

On the bottom of this window choose "COM Add-ins", click "Go" and check "Todoist".

If Todoist isn't there, try installing it from this window (go to COM Add-ins -> Go, choose "Add" and select the Todoist installer.

Please let me know if none of this helps.

David

Thank you this worked. Just curious why this information was easily accessible?

You're welcome.

This information isn't easily accessible because this shouldn't have happened in the first place. It's a bug which we're already working on and once we fix it, the Todoist add-in should be accessible instantly after installation without any further manual activation.

Hello,

we have released a new version of the "Todoist for Outlook" add-in.

Please remove your current Outlook add-in by accessing the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and deleting "OutlookTodoist", download the new application from:

http://todoist.com/outlook

and install it.

If you still experience any issues with the new version, please let us know.
