It seems you can only assign a task to one person. There are cases when I want to assign a task to both my colleague and myself.
How is this done?
That's unfortunately not possible. You could create a sub-task and assign the sub-task to yourself. You could also use the :all: or :to_others: syntax in filters to include these tasks in your search results, but you can't assign a task to multiple people right now.
Is the ability to assign multiple persons to a task something you are planning to implement in the near future? For us it might actually decide whether we decide to use Todoist or not.
We're currently not planning to implement it. We may consider it in the future, though.
When you assign a task to another person do both of you receive the notifications (premium) for that task? What if the task is unassigned? Is anyone notified?
When you add a reminder to a task, you can choose who gets it. So only the person who this is linked to will. But you can add more than one.
this feature is so often asked by users in all the todo apps I know, could you implement it ?
I've read you want to improve the productivity by doing this, but this option don't change this and allows users tu use the app the way THEY intent... i.e. :
- a task can be performed by one or another
- a task has to be done by a group
In the end this option would leave the user"s choice to use the app as he wants to.
and congrats for the app so far :)
Many of our tasks are assigned to 2-3 individuals. I am surprised that a [Ctrl] + mouse click can't add multiple assignees. (Premium) Currently I have to send an additional email notification to include all in the task.
Agreed, I think this feature needs to be included ASAP. I really don't see why you wouldn't include it when there are multiple threads requesting it.
My current work-around is to create a master task, then place 3 identical sub tasks that are assigned to the 3 individuals assigned to the task.
