Sign in to Google for Outlook Todoist?

E

I have Office 2013, and sync my task list to ToodleDo. I downloaded the Todoist add on so I could create subtasks, and use some of the other nice features.

Once I installed it though, the add-on wants me to sign into my Google account. I don't intend to use Google to manage my tasks. Do I have to sign int Google to use this add-on?

Hello,

You don't have to use Google, we offer 2 ways of logging into an account - through Google or regular manual login. Please tell me, did you originally create your Todoist account through Google or manually?

If you've created it manually, enter your email and password into the login fields, if you've created it via Google and would now like to use manual login, you can go to Settings -> Account, set a password here and then use this password in combination with your Google email address.

Hi David,

Thank you for your quick reply! I typically can create tasks manually in Outlook, and use gSyncit to sync with Toodledo. That is if I am at home on my desktop computer.

If I am out, I can create tasks in Toodledo using their app for iPhone, or log into the web and go to the Toodledo site.

Also with Toodledo, I can send an email of tasks to my Toodledo account and will automatically add it as a task, which in turn is synced with my Outlook through gSyncit.

Almost all that can be done with Todoist as well :-) The only thing that's not possible is to sync Outlook's Tasks with Todoist, you can only use Todoist as an Outlook plugin instead of Tasks, but this way, you'll have all tasks in sync on all platforms - iOS, Android, any desktop computer etc. You can get our iOS app from https://todoist.com/iphone

If you right-click on a project in Todoist, you can choose "Email tasks to this project" from the context menu. Here you'll see the unique email address of the project, which you can use to send emails that will be converted to task and notes (with attachments).

David

Followup:
Thank you David, I may look into using it more fully then.. I guess to have the same features as the Toodledo, I'd have to get the premium version of Todoist correct?

For some, yes. Sending emails to projects is a Premium-only feature. Sub-tasks and sub-projects and free, though. Please refer to this list for a detailed comparison between the free and Premium offer: https://todoist.com/compareVersions
